Return To Play Roadmap, Step 3
In accordance with UK Gov and Sport England Covid guidence, we have moved to Step 3 of the British Judo Return to Play plan.
Due to restriced group numbers all of our classes for May and June are full, we are now taking enqires for July, If you are interested in starting judo please vist our New Starters page. If you wish to return to judo please contact us.
We hope to be able to welcome adults back to the mats and spectators back into the dojo from 19 July. Until then parents and carers can wait in the Sports Centre bar or car park. Parking is free, you will need to enter your car registration into the Parking Eye system to avoid a fine.
Bishops Stortford Judo
Founded in 2002 by GB Olympian John Holliday, Bishops Stortford Judo has grown into a thriving community club with a track-record of consistanly developing national and international medallists. Catering for all levels and ages; ranging from teaching primary school age children fundamental skills to coaching players on international performance pathways.
Bishops Stortford Judo is a member club of the British Judo Association, SportEngland Safeguarding Code accredited and HMRC CASC registered.
All of our coaches are BJA qualified, DBS checked and hold First Aid and Child Protection certificates. The club's lead coaches, Joe and Nicole Nunn, are both England Talent Programme coaches, former Great Britain international players and winners of the UK Children's Coach of the Year Award.
We are located in the Herts & Essex Sports Centre. Our dojo is purpose built for judo; with a permanent 22 x 12m mat area, sprung floor, 50mm contest mats and a seated spectators area. The centre has changing rooms, showers and a social space with a kitchen and bar.
Visitors and new starters are always welcome, taster sessions for beginners are FREE and are run on the first class nights of each month. If you would like to take up the Olympic sport of judo, please visit our new starters page for more information.
