In accordance with UK Gov Covid guidence we returned to outdoor training at Step 1b from 29 March.
We are returning to the dojo for indoor training from 12 April, in accordance with the British Judo Covid guidence for Step 2.
Due to restriced group number all classes are now full for April, if you wish to return or start judo in May please contact us.
Spectators are not permitted in the Sports Centre, we hope to be able to welcome spectators back to the dojo from 21 June. Until then parents and guardians can wait in the car park. Parking is free, you will need to enter your car registration into the Parking Eye system to avoid a fine.
Bishops Stortford Judo
Bishops Stortford Judo is a member club of the British Judo Association, SportEngland Clubmark accredited and HMRC CASC registered.
Founded in 2002 by GB Olympian John Holliday, Bishops Stortford Judo has grown into a thriving community club with a reputation for developing national and international medallists. Catering for all levels and ages; ranging from teaching primary school age children fundamental skills to coaching players on international performance pathways.
All of our coaches are BJA qualified, DBS checked and hold First Aid and Child Protection certificates. The club's lead coaches, Joe and Nicole Nunn, are both England Talent Programme coaches, former Great Britain international players and winners of the UK Children's Coach of the Year Award.
We are located in the Herts & Essex Sports Centre. Our dojo is purpose built for judo; with a permanent 22 x 12m mat area, sprung floor, 50mm contest mats and a seated spectators area. The centre has changing rooms, showers and a social space with a kitchen and bar.
Visitors and new starters are always welcome, taster sessions for beginners are FREE and are run on the first class nights of each month. If you would like to take up the Olympic sport of judo, please visit our new starters page for more information.
